Why Employee Award Programs Fail—Awards Not What They Want

If the award is not what the participants was, they don’t work hard to get it. Companies often use awards that they think are motivational, but really aren’t. dBay is loaded with rewards that people really didn't want.   Whenever possible, avoid those award packages that only allow a handful of awards.  Chances are that at least 50% of the participants won't find anything they really want, and just order it because it's free.  Freedom of choice is key in your incentive award program. Many millions of dollars have been spent on incentive awards that are still sitting in the closets waiting to be used as a gift for the next wedding.
